Frequently asked questions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Is GeoPursuit free?
Yes. You can play without an account, and signing in is free. The game is supported by advertising; an optional Premium plan removes the ads.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Without an account you can play one daily mode. An account (email link, Google or Discord) saves your progress and unlocks practice, ranked 1v1, the Battle Royale, your character and the leaderboard.
What devices does it run on?
Any modern browser on a computer, phone or tablet. It uses WebGL for the 3D globe, so very old devices may be slow. Nothing needs to be installed.
How many questions are there?
More than 2,800 places in fifteen categories, with new questions added over time.
Is the daily the same for everyone?
Yes. The five daily questions are the same for every player in the world, and a new set arrives each day.
How is my score calculated?
Up to 1,000 points per question: up to 880 for distance, 50 for speed and 70 for a wide view. Hints cost 15% each. The scoring page has the details.
Why does a question have a photo with a credit line?
Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licences, which require naming the author. The credit stays visible with the picture.
I think a question is wrong. What can I do?
Use the report button on the result panel. Reports are read and questions are corrected or retired.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Add friends with a friend code, challenge them to a private duel, or form a group of up to eight for a Battle Royale.
Which languages are supported?
English and German are written by hand; 23 further languages are machine-translated, and questions are translated on demand.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can export or delete your data from your account in the game, or write to support@geopursuit.com. The privacy notice explains what is stored and why.
How do I contact you?
Email support@geopursuit.com. The legal notice (Impressum) has the full contact details.
